What does CDW mean for my rental car?

CDW stands for "Collision Damage Waiver" and refers to the comprehensive insurance for your rental car. This insurance covers damage to the vehicle that may result from collisions or accidents.

With CDW insurance, you reduce your financial liability in case of damage to the amount of the deductible. In some cases, this deductible may be completely waived.

Important to know:

  • CDW does not cover all types of damage. Certain vehicle parts such as tires, glass, underbody, or roof may be excluded.
  • The exact terms and coverage amounts vary depending on the rental car partner.

You can find detailed information about the CDW insurance and the specific conditions for your rental car:

  • In the rental car section of your personal travel link
  • In the detailed rental car documents in the documents section of the Tourlane app and in your travel link

There you can also see exactly which insurance policies have been booked for your rental car and which specific damages and services are covered.
